Q: What fundraisers do we do?
A: We do a couple of different fundraisers for the league. First of all we DO NOT sell candy as a fundraiser! We always have an A&W takeover (or 2) sponsored by Rick Gehring and the A&W crew. This will be during September. Another fundraiser we have is basket raffle sales. Your team parent will fill you in on the details. We also have a weekly potluck sponsored by each team (per week), and the proceeds go directly to your team. (Handy for trophies, team party, etc) Potlucks will begin in August.
Q: Do they ever cancel practice/games for weather?
A: Typically no, this is football, it is a fall sport and the kids tend to enjoy playing in the rain. It is extremely rare to cancel practice due to the weather, but conditioning camp may be shortened. Games are never cancelled for weather.

BASKETBALL CHEER:
Q: How often do the kids practice?
A: Two days per week once games begin, possibly 3 days per week until games begin – 1 1/2 hours per practice until the season’s onset.
Q: What days of the week are practices held on?
A: It depends on squad assignment; Practices and games are Monday through Thursday only. There may be an occasional Friday practice added in once games begin to learn new dances.
Q: How often do the kids have a game?
A: Maximum of two days per week. Practices will be minimized to a warm-up period prior to the game on those days.
Q: Are there discounts for siblings?
A: NO
Q: What do we get for our $$?
A: For return players: Use of the skirt and shell (top) for the season.
A: For new players: (Same as above), Plus: poms, socks and dance pants (kickpants)
A: Also, safety certified instruction for the sport of cheerleading; this means stunting, dance, tumbling, basketball sideline cheering, sportsmanship skills, leadership skills, safe warm-up and stretching, and strength training & conditioning.
Q: Do we have to buy anything else?
A: Yes, CHEERLEADING shoes (white only) and a solid white T-shirt. There may also be optional accessorial items available such as warm ups, a duffle bag, etc…
Q: What time are the games?
A: Our cheerleaders only cheer for the "early" games that usually begin between 6 and 630 and typically run about an hour or so. (Last season after cheering a couple 730 games we decided it was too late for our cheerleaders to be out on a school night.) We understand cheerleaders need to get to bed for school the next day so if a game is running long we totally understand if parents want to leave early to get their children to bed. However, we appreciate it when they can all stay through at least the half-time performance.
Q: Any special rules?
A: Please be advised that your cheerleader will not be allowed to wear jewelry of any kind while either at practice or at games. This is a huge safety issue and is very important.
A: Your cheerleader will be expected to show up to practice in properly fitting work out attire, cheer shoes, hair back in a ponytail or pulled off face with soft clips if shorter hair. These rules are in place for your cheerleader's safety.
A: All other rules will be explained the first day of practice.
