The South Kitsap Pee Wee organization has been in this community for over 30 years, helping the youth of South Kitsap become strong, vital members of the community. They learn discipline, and respect, not only for others, but also for themselves. We have recently added cheerleading as a valuable sport to enhance our league beyond the typical basketball and football programs we have always offered. We are a non-profit organization, which means, the money we receive comes from the community which supports us.

    We have developed a good working relationship with the South Kitsap Babe Ruth Association, and they have provided us field use. However, because of our phenomenal growth right now, we have some big needs. First of all, we are looking for property located in South Kitsap where we can have more space to accomodate the number of players for safer practices. We will need to get some lights put up so the kids can play safely. As you know, football is played late in the year, and it gets dark early. The lights are going to cost around $50,000.00 including installation, because we have some awesome dads who are electricians, and have volunteered to help.

    The second most important thing we need is a concession stand/clubhouse. The concessions are our life-blood, as it funds our basic needs throughout the season as well as provides snacks and water to the kids, their parents, siblings and visiting teams on game days. The concession stand is vital to our survival as a league, but a clubhouse would help beyond the league level, down to each individual team. Ask any member of South Kitsap Pee Wees why we need a clubhouse, especially for the Friday night potlucks, and they will tell you that without the Friday night potlucks, the teams have to scramble for trophy and team party money, and hardly ever have the funds for a coach's present. The potluck not only provides the team with some money, it's usually our best meal of the week! (Everyone is welcome)

    We also need a scoreboard and bleachers for the fans, friends, and family of the players and cheerleaders.

    Another need for our future is adequate space to build basketball gyms. We average around 45-50 basketball TEAMS per year, and are running out of appropriate gyms in this area to use. Basketball in South Kitsap is spread throughout the area, and we need to give them a home they can call their own. They have no concessions or potlucks, and this would help the basketball program immensly!

    So, as you can see, we have been very busy providing our kids a safe place to play that they can call their own, but there is still so much more to do, and that is where we need your help.
